Custom Ceramic Coated! They each have a small “bald spot” on the part that gets glued in. Do not be alarmed - it’s where the conductive element was attached.
The specialized nano-ceramic lacquer is applied using electro-plating. While chemical & wear resistant, certain precautions should be taken:
- Do not use inks from Noodlers Ink or Private Reserve Ink. The PH of these inks are known to strip the coating
- Use distilled or deionized water to clean the nib, feed, and housing. Pen flush is not recommended
- It is best to leave the nib in the housing while cleaning. Use a bulb syringe to gently flow water through the assembly
- Handle with care. Frequent removal of the nib from the housing increases the chance of chipping the color
- Shimmer inks are not recommended. They contain particles that can clog the nib, requiring removal to properly clean
