The ER32 Collet Chucks comes in various spindle sizes to fit your wood lathe! Collet chucks are regularly used when making kit-less pens, holding your ring mandrel, or other style mandrels. Using the collet chuck will be the most precise way of holding something to your lathe spindle. Our collet chucks are 3-1/2″ long less the collet nut. Our collet chucks are closed hole, meaning that the collet end is closed off from spindle side. We opted for this to help protect your spindle threads from dust from turning and water from wet sanding/polishing.
A collet nut wrench is supplied with each collet chuck. We currently are not offering collets as each person(s) needs are different and we do not want to add additional costs for something you do not need. This collet chuck is meant for ER32 size collets only. ER32 collets are a standardized collet that is easily found. We are leaving it up to the customer for size and quality of the collets they want. You can easily purchase an imported collet from Amazon, but if you are looking for a USA made collet you can find Micro 100 collets from Zoro.
Please note that ER32 are precision collets. They have a +0″ and -1/32″ range of use. Some 3/4″ pen blanks are actually closer to 13/16″. Please measure your turning stock (if need be) before ordering collets.
Precision machined in the USA! Rust protective black oxide coating. Unlike other collet chucks ours run true to within .002″ of an inch. Free storage case included. Collet chucks are supplied with an ER32 Collet Nut Wrench.The body is 3-1/2″ long less the collet nut. Each collet chuck features 1-3/8″ or 35mm flats for easy install/removal of your spindle. We recommend using a 10″-12″ adjustable wrench. Most newer 10″ adjustable wrenches have a max opening of 1-3/8″.
