The same great Apollo kit you know and love, now redesigned and improved for an even higher quality kit at the same great price.

Improvements to the kit include:

  • Triple start threads for an improved user experience.
  • The cap insert has a machined air hole in it so that you will not get a trapped air pocket as you epoxy in the cap (an issue from version 1).
  • Proudly made right here in the USA.

This high-quality pen kit gives you the creative freedom and look of a bespoke pen without needing expensive equipment to achieve it! Made with the finest 304 Stainless Steel & Lead-Free Brass, these pens will be sure to turn heads with your customers. The fountain pen variety uses a #5 nib and comes with an ink converter as well as a pre-filled cartridge. The rollerball comes with a Schmidt 5888 refill and a spring.

Drill bits needed: 3/8" and 29/64" for the cap (I highly recommend doing a test fit though. If your tailstock has slop, you may want to go down a size). 23/64, 21/64" (Previously called out as 5/16" but the converters seem to have gotten a touch bigger which is causing an issue) and 1/4" for the body.

Apollo pen kits

I received my Apollo pens and I have made up 2 of the kits and look great and they will make great presents.

Wow!

The idea of turning a kitless pen was so intriguing but also so intimidating. I watched a live stream, actually several, more than once, and Kate made it look so easy! I dove in and am so pleased with the end result. The pen kit is well-made and is easy to assemble. First time was fun! Second, not so much but not because of the kit!

Take it up a notch!

I'm up to my 5th Apollo pen kit. Now quite honestly, this is not the easiest project and requires a bit of extra kit - for starters, 5 drill bits, pen jaws for a drill chuck (a drill press can be used but your holes need to be VERY precise) and a colett chuck. It seems like a lot but when it all comes together, the results are wonderful! As an intermediate turner, my advice to beginners would be to thoroughly read the instructions and tips sheet, watch the tutorial video and perhaps some other you tubers who use this kit - Zac Higgins turns these. Give it a try - the Apollo kit for quality blows away any other fountain pen kit I've turned!

Awesome

These are not your normal kit pens, there is some learning curve but the outcome is awesome. Used an Apollo fountain for a commissioned piece. Customer loved it as well. The wood used was nothing spectacular in appearance, but was a sentimental piece for the customer.

Wonderful Kits!

I have purchased both the Apollo and the Artemis kits and they are both a joy to make. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Once completed, these are wonderful looking pens and I'm proud to say they are USA made! Thank you to the Bullseye team for creating this product!
